Here at Black Drum, we like to get your beans roasted, packaged and shipped in as little time as possible. For this reason, please check each product for it's roast day - we aim to get espresso products to you next day, but to cover our butts, we'll ensure your order gets to you within two days of roast! Filter coffee due to being roasted lighter has a longer shelf life. So in it's case, we roast it fortnightly at present or as required.

We roast our origins individually, treating each one with appropriate heat, airflow and attention to detail to bring the optimum flavour experience out of each batch. We then assemble 3 masterful creations to meet the diverse array of individual preferences that we all look for in our morning buzz.

Origins - Filter & Light Espresso

 

We love roasting our coffees for filter, but try keep it to a supply & demand situation. What this means is that we currently roast one Origin as a filter each fortnight. We gather around in a some-what intimate team huddle (call it a cuddle if you like) and murmur different origins till one just feels right. We cuddle some more, then get to roasting.

Note that as filter roasts are dropped much lighter than espresso, they have a longer aging process and we've found that they really serve best from 10 days - 25 days off roast.

Fresh off the back of Kev's recent trip to Kenya, we are stoked to partner with Ameru Coffee to see this direct trade relationship continue to bloom! Bold up front with tropical papaya notes, tapering in the middle where balanced black berry notes surface with a sticky body and a long sweet finish.
